Dexter tv seriesOrphaned at the age of three and harboring a traumatic secret, Dexter was adopted by a Miami police officer named Harry Morgan, who recognized Dexter's sociopathic tendencies and taught him to channel his gruesome passion for thrill killing by giving it a constructive direction: killing people who deserve it. Most have slipped through the justice system, due to loopholes and technicalities in the law or were never apprehended.

During the day, Dexter Morgan is a jovial employee in the Miami Metropolitan Police Department's crime lab, but his meticulously crafted life masks his true nature. In reality Dexter is a disciplined and murderous psychopath (a self-admitted "monster"), and he slakes his blood lust at night by carefully killing the serial killers he tracks down during the day. Based on the novels (Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter and Dexter in the Dark) by Jeff Lindsay.

Dexter has a girlfriend, Rita Bennett, whom he dates in order to appear normal. Rita is psychologically damaged from an abusive ex-husband, a violent felon, and is too distraught to want to be in an intimate relationship. Dexter believes himself unable to fake emotions when that close to a person, and therefore avoids intimate relationships, making the "damaged Rita" the perfect girlfriend. Dexter hopes to keep up the facade of normality by never engaging in a close relationship with her. However, Dexter does have genuine affection for and feels comfortable with Rita and her two children, Astor and Cody.

Being thirteen my comment more than likely wont even get read, but this its important for me to at least try.

Im seeking a way to contact the directors/script writers of dexter.

A friend of mine in the USA and I are kind of obsessed with Dexter and talk about it non stop, she tells me what episodes are good and what not and which ones arent worth watching, I trust her judgment seeing as we are very alike and have a lot in common. You can believe my surprise when she told me she was never going to watch the show again. Its been said that Rita one of the main characters gets murdered in one of the later seasons and my family and i arent very happy. Reading this everyones probably thinking im just some silly little girl complaining about nothing but this goes further than just me and my family, many many people ive spoken to have said they would stop watching Dexter if Rita were to be killed off as goes for some friends of mine in the USA.
Unless of course it were to be perhaps a dream or something and Dexter was just imagining the whole scenario or something similar that would mean Rita is actually not dead. Im honestly shocked that such a fine main character played by Julie Benz could be killed so abruptly like that, especially at the end of a season. I love Dexter but knowing what i now know i doubt i will continue watchhing the show, considering she was one of my favourites.

My whole family and i used to gather round and watch the show together and Mum really got into it.. "GO GET EM DEX",
"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!" and other things best left unspoken are quotes directly from her mouth she yells at the television while jumping around Dad who acts like he knew what was going to happen. Its like a tradition for us, sit down watch Dexter eat etc etc. but a tradition that will broken if this problem is not soon fixed. I will stop at nothing to have Julie Benz's character resurected and brought back to the screen where she belongs. Im sure Julie herself would not be too happy about the fact, i mean what shall become of her now? will she be cast in some other television drama show and make a possible comeback or will she evapourate from television?

If someone has anyway of contacting anyone to do with the show it would be greatly appreciated.

Many many thanks, Brooke. x

New Amsterdam
John Amsterdam, a brilliant NYPD homicide detective is immortal. He is 400 years old, but his body structure is that of a 35-year-old. Amsterdam was a Dutch soldier in the year 1642 when he stepped in front of a sword to save the life of a Native American girl during a massacre of her tribe. The girl in turn rescued Amsterdam by weaving an ancient spell that conferred immortality upon him. It was also prophesied that he would not age until he finds his one true love, and only then will he become whole and ready for mortality.
