When medical students Felipe and Marcos arrive in the isolated village where they are supposed to perform their medical internship, they are surprised when the villagers reject their services, because they blindly believe in Don Torino, the local healer. The young doctors decide to fight fire with fire. They ask their friend Carlos to pretend to be a cripple. Don Torino is unable to cure him, but Marcos and Felipe get him to "walk again". The villagers switch sides, trusting the new "witch doctor's magic", but Don Torino swears revenge on the newcomers.
