 Ángel Gutiérrez is a kind-hearted and very humble man. He works hard at the office and gives all his salary to his wife Rosa who treats him very badly. Rosa considers her husband a coward, she despises him for being so mediocre. Angel and Rosa have two children, Angel and Lucrecia, they also do not respect their father because they see how their mother humiliates him every single day.
At the office, Angel is underestimated too. Everyone makes fun of him,
especially his boss, Mr. Martínez, who has nicknamed him “Gutierritos“.
Angel has only one friend, Jorge, who supports him when everyone else is
against him. One day Mr. Martínez hires Elena, a young woman, who is
very attractive but also timid and insecure.
Angel falls in love with Elena, but he is too shy to reveal his
feelings. He decides to write a book, where he would be able to express
his feelings towards Elena, but in the end, everything goes wrong. Angel
shows his book to his friend and Jorge steals it. The book becomes a
best-seller but everyone suspects Jorge to be its author. Elena reads
the book and the author’s talent strikes her. She thinks it is Jorge who
has written the book, that is why she falls in love with him.
Angel tries to tell the truth but nobody believes him. He suffers a lot
because he has lost both his friend and the woman he loved.
