At an expensive boarding school, two little girls form a strange
liaison. Alicia Bernal is an orphan who knows nothing of her past, not
even who pays for her education. Hilda Moreno is an evil and bitter
child who has been sent away from her home by a father appalled at his
daughter's wickedness. As the years go by, Hilda dominates Alicia and
turns her into her slave. After graduation, Hilda drags Alicia into a
life of crime, aided by Tony, her lover. Hilda and Tony die in a car
crash, and Alicia makes a desperate decision. She dyes her hair, uses
her last savings to buy an expensive wardrobe, travels to the Tabasco
plantation that belongs to Rafael Moreno, and introduces herself as
Hilda, his daughter. However, although she is believed to be Hilda,
neither Rafael nor Virginia, his second wife want her around. And there
are many that recall Hilda's evil nature. Even those who have never met
her, such as Engineer Carlos Moran, look upon Alicia with suspicion.
