"La Intrusa" is a remake of telenovela "La Madrastra" (Venezuela) with Marina Baura.
There are also other two Venezuelan versions: telenovela "Alma Mía" (Venezuela, 1985) with Carlos Montilla, Nohely Arteaga and Astrid Carolina Herrera, and telenovela "Cuando Hay Pasión" (Venezuela, 1999) with Fedra Lopez and Jorge Reyes. The original story of the first one is credited to Mariana Luján and of the second one - to Benilde Avila, but by some reason those are almost the same story.
Forum Telenovela World - La Intrusa
Virginia Martinez, beautiful, simple and honest woman, works as a governess in the mansion of Rodrigo Junquera. He has six children: Junior, Carlos Alberto, Raquel, Violet, Aldo and Memo. Carlos Alberto falls in love with Virginia, without thinking about anything serious, but she loves him sincerely. Rodrigo Junquera has squandered his fortune and additionally discovers that he suffers from a mortal disease. To his grief, he knows that his children are not prepared for his death. Rodrigo thinks about all the qualities that Virginia has and marries her so she can keep the family together when the time comes for him to die. But when his family finds out about their marriage, they start hating her.
