A widow, Eva, is expecting a son. Her deceased husband belonged to one
of the wealthiest families of the country. His mother Carola does not
love her daughter-in-law because she is from another social class, but
she wants a heir, since her other daughter Bianca cannot have children.
When Eva is going to give birth to her son, Carola prepares two rooms
in a hospital, the one for Eva and other for Bianca.
When the son of
Eva is born, the director of the hospital, bought by Carola, tells Eva
that her son has died and the newborn is the son of Bianca. Eva does
not believe that story and begins to investigate what happened to her
son. A good doctor of the hospital tells her the truth. Carola, seeing
that Eva continues looking for her son, uses her influences and shuts
her in the mental hospital. There Eva become friends with another
patient, they both escape from the hospital on a small boat that was
shipwrecked. They both are considered dead. Carola feels happy that Eva
is not a danger anymore to her family. In the meantime, Eva was found
on the coast of another country by villagers who helped her, but her
friend died.
The time passes and the son of Eva Maximo Roth Baida grows
up believing to be a son of Bianca and her husband. Meanwhile Eva
returns to the country as a wife of a new governor General Yocastas.
Eva begins to take actions against the Baida family. Maximo, seeing
what is happening and how desperate is his family, and not knowing that
Eva is his real mother, goes to see Eva and to confront her. That's how
she meets her son for the first time, she feels a great emotion, while
her son protests her actions against his family. Shortly after Eva has
the health problem and she goes to see a doctor and tells him her
story. The doctor discovers that Eva has an incurable disease and
advises her to forget about the revenge and to enjoy the last days of
her life. Eva decides to follow his advice and goes away to live on an
island. Carola is also very ill. Her daughter Bianca decides to tell
her son all the truth, that Eva is his real mother. Maximo goes to
search for his real mother Eva. He arrives at the island, finds her and
says "Mom, I was searching for you".
