Paula Otero is a shy and insecure girl who works as a make up-expert
for a telenovelas production company. Paula lives with her mother
Cristina Otero, embittered and bad ex-actress. Dona Cristina dominates
Paula and treats her bad. At work Paula meets and falls in love with
the actor Alberto Madrigal. She is aware that he will never fall in
love with her and she decides to transform herself into Chantal (by
wearing a different make up and clothes) to win him. Alberto falls in
love with Paula and after their date she gets pregnant. Then Paula
becomes desperate, because she discovers that Alberto is her brother:
he is also Dona Cristina's son whom she gave away for adoption. Paula
marries Miguel Angel Bremer, a jealous and neurotic director. At the
end Paula and Alberto finally get married. They discover that in
reality Paula is an illegitimate daughter of Dona Cristina's husband,
and that explains the bad attitude of Dona Cristina to her.
