Huicho Domínguez is on the peak of his fortune and vulgarity, married
to the sensual and ambitious Consuelo, although sometimes he misses his
children and Rebeca, his first wife who died. At the same time, in a
humble area of Mexico City lives Estrellita, a nice but very poor girl,
who is abused by her mother, the brutal "La Condesa (Countess)".
Estrellita is a girlfriend of Pancho, but her beauty has attracted the
interest of a criminal Tacubayo. La Condesa sees Huicho on the news and
recognizes him. He is her cousin! La Condessa leaves for Acapulco
dragging Estrellita with her, but Huicho is not happy at all with these
new relatives and he puts them to work as the maids. But later Huicho
loses his fortune and now only Estrellita will be able to rescue him
from the desperation.

The maiden, having avoided her fate, invokes Ahzac's fury, who then invokes a curse upon the black pearl, saying, " Whoever has this pearl in their possession will never be able to know what happiness is!"
