All outside shots of supposed Harvard University buildings are actually pictures of Yale University buildings. Some example shots are: Lanman-Wright Hall, Durfee Hall, and the Yale Station post office (as seen from Old Campus) and Calhoun College (as seen from Cross Campus).
Lance Reddick was supposed to audition for the part of Charlie Francis was asked to audition for Phillip Broyles on the spot.
An episode of 'Fringe' runs from about 49 to 51 minutes in length. This is in contrast to the typical 42-43 minute length of a one hour drama. This is part of Fox's plan to see if viewers are more likely to tune in if there are less commercials.
Lance Reddick (Agent Phillip Broyles ) and Kirk Acevedo (Agent Charlie Francis) appeared together in "Oz" (1997), where Acevedo was a convict, and Reddick was an undercover FBI agent.
