Tomasa Tequiero – is a very strong and kind black woman of about 30. She has a big son, who has grown up in Columbia, and a husband she needs to maintain. At this stage of her life she sees it’s better to be alone than have this kind of company near. But what is a “good company”? Who knows?
Ramon Tequiero – is Tomasa’s son and her main pride. She loves him more
than life and is ready to give him anything he wants. What she can’t
give her son is his mother near him. She lives and works in another
state. But she is going to have a surprise one day, when she opens the
entrance door and sees a really big guy with a back-bag on his shoulder
– her son. Ramon comes to mum and says her his decision to have his own
life in Caracas.
But Tomasa is a real woman with her own principles. She is sure theft
is sin, the lie will be discovered soon by any means, the married men
are miserable and not worth her attention. The problem is that her
heart spoils all her principles to fall in love with Severo Bustamante
– a false man with plenty of debts.
Besides Tomasa has two stepdaughters Fabiana and Miguelina,
their aunt Margarita – a successful lady of thirty who has a firm wish
to have both husband and son as soon as possible, the girls’
grandmother Martirio, and Floritex – her trustee and the shoulder to
cry on. So the family is rather big. It’s not easy for them to live
together. But the time is passing and family has to learn living
together with the treasure they have – money, love, hatred, anger,
envy, laugh, fear… It’s a story of love and greediness.
